The Skyworth SXC9800 4K OLED series goes officialSkyworth has unveiled a new series of 4K OLED TVs - the Skyworth SXC9800. The series was freshly introduced back in January for South Africa but it is now that it receives a wider introduction. There are two models - Skyworth 65SXC9800 and Skyworth 55SXC9800 but currently the brand has chosen to market six core advantages of the series instead of detailing the models. We've managed to get some details of what's available in South Africa so do have in mind that the specs still need to be completed and will probably change in the future when more details are available (mainly dimensions, weight, tuners).

First, the Skyworth SXC9800 series uses OLED panels with Skyworth touting its long-term experience in introducing OLED TVs (23 series to be exact). These particular TVs can reach 900 nits of peak brightness, cover 129% BT.709, support HDR10 and DolbyVision. Moreover, they employ TCL's proprietary technology for removing afterimages - SOBiF. It combines six key technologies that reduce to almost zero the chance of encountering afterimages during daily use. These technologies include OverScan Pixels Displacement, OLED Tailored Dynamic Screen Protector, OLED Specific UI Design Standard, OFFRS function, JB function, TPC Static Image Brightness Adjustment.

Second, the Skyworth SXC9800 series can easily serve as your home entertainment hub. They are equally suitable for general TV and cinematic experiences, gaming, sports, etc. Game Mode, for example, provides a low latency with a 1 ms response time.

Third, TCL's own Swaiot technology and software enables your TV to serve as a smart hub for your smart home in case you have other Swaiot devices in it, including robot vacuums, air conditioners, camera doorbells, etc.

Fourth, with the Skyworth SXC9800 series based on Android you get Google Assistant which enables hands-free voice control and a richer interaction with your TV.

Fifth, these OLED TVs are powered by TCL's Chameleon AI PG Extreme 2.0 engine which is at the core at image quality processing and overall performance. Skyworth mentions that it houses "the latest processing chip" but does not specify which one. On a more specific level, it is responsible for 4K upscaling, contrast enhancement, dynamic remodelling, and AI self-adaptation.

Sixth, the Skyworth SXC9800 series offers 4K OLED panels with 120Hz refresh rate, 120Hz MEMC, 83% NTSC coverage, Dolby Vision and DOlby Atmos certification. They are also UK, TUV, and SGS certified for low blue light and no flicker.

Finally, the series features a bezelless design that can easily blen into any interior. When mounted on the stand, the TV remmains tilted backwards at 3.5 (+/-1) degrees which is deemed to offer a more natural view.
