LG unveils the UltraFine series of displays, designed for MacBook and MacBook ProAdd DisplaySpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleLG has unveiled a new series of displays, created especially for the MacBook and the MacBook Pro. Actually, the latest MacBook Pro has been presented at yesterday's Apple event. The displays are part of the new UltraFine series, which currently includes a 27-inch 5K display and a 21.5-inch 4K model. The 27-inch UltraFine 5K display by LG is designed and optimized for the new MacBook Pro with Thunderbolt 3 running macOS 10.12 and later. This the company's first Thunderbolt 3 model, which allows it to charge the laptop via a single Thunderbolt 3 cable, while receiving and transferring 5K video, audio and data from the new MacBook Pro. There are three downstream USB Type-C ports as well. The display has an advanced IPS panel, optimized to prevent color shift and color loss. It has a resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels, a pixel density of 218 ppi, and covers 99% of the P3 color space. The monitor has a front-facing camera and microphone compatible with FaceTime as well as Hi-Fi integrated speakers enhanced by LG's Rich Bass feature. The 21.5-inch UltraFine 4K display has the same IPS panel as the larger model, but with a resolution of 4096 x 2304 pixels, a pixel density of 219 ppi, and 99% coverage of the P3 color space. This model is specially designed for MacBook, but is also compatible with MacBook Pro. It features three downstream USB Type-C slots for video, data and power over a single cable and macOS integration for display control, a high-quality Rich Bass Speaker and an adjustable stand for enhanced ergonomics. The 21.5-inch UltraFine 4K display will hit the market next month, while the 27-inch UltraFine 5K display will go on sale in December.Source
