It builds upon its predecessor's display by upping the peak brightness and enhancing the refresh rate capabilities. The display combines a native 3840 x 2160 resolution with a maximum refresh rate of 160Hz, while its dual‑mode design enables an instant switch to Full HD operation with frame‑rate boosting up to 324Hz via a dedicated Frame Rate Boost hotkey. The monitor is AMD FreeSync Premium, NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible, VESA AdaptiveSync Display 160Hz, and VESA AdaptiveSync Display 324Hz certified.
Color performance is a central focus of the new model, delivering 95% DCI‑P3 color space coverage and 130% sRGB color volume with 10‑bit color depth. The monitor reaches 350 cd/m² typical brightness and peaks at 500 cd/m² in HDR mode, supported by HDR10 and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. Response times drop as low as 0.3ms (with a 1ms GTG rating). The panel is flicker‑free and incorporates TÜV‑certified low blue light protection. Asus's Smart Pixel technology further sharpens details - particularly useful when switching to lower‑resolution modes like 1080p.
The Asus ROG Strix XG27UCSR is equipped with a full suite of gaming‑oriented enhancements. Adaptive‑Sync variable refresh rate support is paired with Extreme Low Motion Blur and ELMB Sync, allowing blur‑reduction and VRR to operate simultaneously. GamePlus overlays, GameVisual presets, GameFast Input technology, and aspect‑ratio control are all present. The company also introduces a trio of Gaming AI‑assisted tools - AI Visual, Dynamic Crosshair, and Dynamic Shadow Boost - designed to analyze scenes in real time and optimize clarity, targeting, and visibility. All settings can be managed through the updated DisplayWidget Center software.
Connectivity includes a DisplayPort 1.4 (HBR3) input, an HDMI 2.1 port with FRL bandwidth, and a USB‑C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 15‑watt power delivery. An earphone jack is included, though the monitor does not feature built‑in speakers.
The mechanical design includes a 1/4‑inch tripod socket for camera or accessory mounting, along with a fully adjustable stand offering tilt from +20 to –5 degrees, swivel from +45 to –45 degrees, pivot in both directions up to 90 degrees, and 110 millimeters of height travel.
