The two models share the same 34-inch ultra-wide Fast VA display with a WQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and a 1500R curvature. The display panel is designed to deliver both immersion and speed. It supports a dual‑mode system that allows players to switch between 200Hz at WQHD and an esports‑oriented 400Hz at ultra-wide HD (1720 x 720), toggled instantly via a hotkey. It also features a 0.5ms (GTG) minimum response time and combines ELMB Sync with AMD FreeSync Premium to eliminate ghosting and screen tearing during high‑frame‑rate gameplay. The models are also VESA AdaptiveSync Display 200Hz and VESA AdaptiveSync Display 400Hz certified.
Color performance is enhanced through DisplayHDR 400 certification, 95% DCI‑P3 coverage, and 1205 sRGB color volume, offering deeper contrast and more vivid visuals. The Asus Smart Pixel technology further sharpens lower‑resolution content using intelligent upscaling, ensuring clarity even when switching to high‑refresh‑rate modes. The monitors also integrate upgraded Gaming AI features, including dynamic crosshair adjustments, shadow enhancement for spotting enemies in dark areas, and automatic scene‑based optimization through DisplayWidget Center.
The Asus TUF Gaming VG34WQL5A and the Asus TUF Gaming VG34WQ5A include a modern connectivity options - two HDMI 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, four USB Type-A ports, and a headphone jack. Each features dual 2W stereo speakers as well. The only difference between the two is the stand. The VG34WQL5A can be adjusted in height, swivel, and tilt, while the VG34WQ5A supports tilt adjustment only. Needless to say, both monitors arrive with proprietary Asus features such as 6-axis color adjustment, Asus Power Sync, Color Temperature Selection, GameFast Input, Game Plus, Game Visual, Trace Free Technology, and Variable Overdrive.
