LG Display frames CES 2026 around AI and wider OLED adoption

Add DisplaySpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleLG Display opened its CES 2026 presence under the banner "Display for AI, Technology for All", signaling a push to align next‑generation panels with artificial intelligence workflows while broadening OLED availability for mainstream consumers. At a large‑sized OLED showcase in the Conrad Hotel, the company unveiled what it described as a new flagship TV panel and a slate of high‑performance gaming displays that together aim to redefine brightness, reflectance, and refresh‑rate benchmarks for the category.
At the heart of LG Display's presentation is Primary RGB Tandem 2.0, an upgraded iteration of the company's stacked‑color approach that places red, green and blue light‑emitting layers in independent strata. LG Display says the refined pixel structure and new algorithms significantly boost light efficiency, enabling the new TV panel to reach a peak brightness of up to 4500 nits. The company also highlighted advanced light‑absorption and diffusion engineering that reduces surface reflections to 0.3%, a figure it positions as the lowest among current displays.
Beyond the TV flagship, LG Display said it will extend Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 across its Gaming OLED lineup beginning this year. The company expects the technology to lift monitor peak brightness to 1500 nits, bringing the same efficiency and color‑stacking benefits to desktop displays and reinforcing its strategy to make OLED a more common choice for high‑end monitors.
LG Display used CES to spotlight a range of gaming‑focused OLED panels that push performance limits. A 27‑inch gaming panel introduced at the show is billed as the first OLED display to achieve an ultra‑high refresh rate of 720 Hz, targeting competitive gamers who demand extreme frame pacing. Complementing that model is a 39‑inch Gaming OLED panel offering 5K2K resolution, aimed at users seeking a blend of expansive workspace and pixel density for both play and content creation.
Framed by the exhibition theme, LG Display positioned these product advances as part of a broader effort to optimize displays for AI‑driven content and workflows while accelerating OLED adoption. The company emphasized that improvements in brightness, anti‑reflective performance and refresh rates are intended not only to serve niche markets but to deliver a differentiated visual experience to a wider range of consumers.
