Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ and ROG Strix XG27UQ DSC gaming monitors specificationsAsus has listed the official specifications of two of its gaming monitors which were announced earlier. Both arrive with Display Stream Compression (DSC) - an industry compression standard for lossless 4K UHD with 144 Hz via DisplayPort 1.4. The standard supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) with a single cable.

Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ

Upon the announcement at CES 2020, it was unveiled that the Asus ROG Swift PG43UQ is a 43-inch monitor with a 4K VA panel (3840 x 2160) that supports 144Hz refresh rate and has a 1 ms MPRT. The panel has a static contrast ratio of 4000:1 and covers 90% of the DCI-P3 color space. It also supports 10-bit color. This monitor is NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible Ready and has a VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification thanks to the 1000 nits peak brightness it offers. The model is equipped with two 10W speakers, two HDMI 2.0 inputs, two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs, a headphone jack, audio-in jack and two USB 3.0 ports. It also arrives with remote control. The onboard features include Shadow Boost, Extreme Low Motion Blur, GameVisual, GamePlus, Ultra-Low Blue Light, Flicker-free tech, Picture-by-Picture, Asus Aura Sync. The stand offers only tilt adjustment and can be removed for VESA wall mounting (100 x 100 mm).

Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ

This monitor was announced at Gamescom 2019 in August together with the ROG Strix XG43UQ. The latter is Vesa DisplayHDR 1000 certified and covers 90% of the DCI-P3 colour space. It also works smoothly with AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR.

However, while the Asus XG43UQ does not have its official specifications listed yet, the Asus XG27UQ has received its product page. It is equipped with a 27-inch IPS panel with Quantum Dot technology and 4K resolution (3840 x 2160). The panel covers 90% of the DCI-P3 colour space and has a peak brightness of 400 nits for DisplayHDR 400 certification. The typical brightness and static contrast are 350 nits and 1000:1, respectively. The XG27UQ supports AdaptiveSync technology and is NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible ready. The display offers a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, 1 ms MPRT and arrive's with the Asus Aura Sync ambient LED lights.

As long as it concerns the DSC feature, in order to enable 4K resolution at 144Hz with DSC, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 20 series, AMD Radeon RX 5700 or higher graphics card is required. The Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ also features Shadow Boost, Extreme Low Motion Blur, GameVisual, GamePlus, Ultra-Low Blue Light, Flicker-free tech. The model is equipped with two HDMI 2.0 inputs, two DisplayPort 1.4, a USB 3.0 Type-B port (upstream), two USB 3.0 Type-A ports (downstream) and a headphone jack. The stand offers tilt, height, swivel and pivot adjustment. It can be removed for VESA wall mounting (100 x 100 mm) and there's a Kensington lock as well.
