LG aims at creating a wireless home theatre for premium TVs next yearKorean ETNews reports that LG Electronics is planning on incorporating wireless sound technologies to create wireless home theatre systems next year for premium TVs. It will integrate wireless from high-end brands such as Bang & Olufsen, Klipsch and others that support lossless sound without any cable connection. This move on LG's art will only increase the competition in a niche TV market focused on the sound bars. Most probably, LG will adopt the WiSA Alliance wireless technology on its OLED TVs and UHD LCD TVs to be launched next year. WiSA technology transmits 24-bit high-quality sound without distortion. It is specialized in delivering high-quality sound without delay compared to existing wireless transmission standards such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The wireless sound transmission technology incorporates the latest stereo sound technologies such as Dolby Atmos and DTS: X which are uncommon. The combination of a high-end TV and high-quality wireless speakers makes it possible to build a home theatre system that delivers high-quality sound without wires. Major audio companies such as Bang & Olufsen, Klipsch, and Enclave produce a number of WiSA certified wireless speakers. This can also be viewed as an attempt to expand the related ecosystem in an already highly competitive market. TV manufacturers also use sound bars for consumers who want to enhance their own sound system while experiencing a high level of sound quality and enjoying high space efficiency. However, soundbars do have some deficiencies to convey a three-dimensional sound. "Some of the recent soundbars have connected the speakers wirelessly, but they have been at the level of simply implementing bass," an electronics industry official said. "Implementing a home theatre system wirelessly and delivering it at its original sound level quality requires a lot of advanced technology." Another industry official said, "Like smartphones, TVs will support wireless audio devices while improving space efficiency and differentiating sound quality."Origen
