At the NAB in Las Vegas HP has unveiled two new displays from its DreamColor series, which is targeted at the visual effects and animation professionals, and has been developed with high-end studios from this market segment. The first is the HP DreamColor Z31x Studio
- a 31-inch desktop monitor with a true 10-bit IPS panel that has a Cinema 4K resolution (4096 x 2160 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 17:9. It covers 100% of sRGB, 100% of Adobe RGB, 99% of DCI-P3, and 80% of BT.2020 color spaces and works with multiple frame rates, including native support of 60Hz, 50Hz, and 48Hz. Besides being developed to provide best color accuracy, it has a built-in colorimeter. It can work either on demand, or on schedule, so your display is always calibrated. Along this, it features a built-in KVM switch for the cases you use two machines, and a True 2K Mode, which switches to a 2048 x 1080 resolution without scaling the pixels. , the static contrast ratio is 1500:1 and the on/off response time is 10ms. The model is equipped with 2x DisplayPort 1.2, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x USB Type-C (DisplayPort Alt Mode), 4x USB 3.0, 1x USB 3.0 Type-B connector. The stand offers height, tilt, and swivel adjustment. The price for this beast is set at USD 3999 and availability is yet to be announced.
HP DreamColor Z24x G2
is far more affordable and costs USD 559. It will be available in July and features a 24-inch 8 bit + FRC panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels at 60 Hz. It has a 1000:1 static contrast ration, 300 cd/m2
of typical brightness, and 6 ms GTS response time. The display covers 100% of sRGB, 100% of BT.709, and 99% of Adobe RGB color space. There's a User color space that can be calibrated with the included DreamColor calibration software. It is equipped with 2x DisplayPort 1.2 (in/out), 1x HDMI 1.4, 1x DVI-D, and 5x USB 3.0 ports. OMEN by HP 32 Display has been announced at the end of May this year and now the Japanese site of HP has revealed some more information about the model.
