LG launches the first Direct View LED (DVLED) displays for high-end home cinema experience

LG launches the first Direct View LED (DVLED) displays for high-end home cinema experienceLG has launched its first Direct View LED (DVLED) displays that are for home use and not commercial's. Dubbed LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema, it is designed specifically for high-end residential installations. LG's foray into the super-luxury residential display segment uses 2 million to 33 million individual diodes (depending on resolution) to deliver high performance with exceptional brightness, years of residential lifespan, strong viewing angles and a very high colour gamut even in rooms with high ambient light. LG argues Direct-View LED technology is visibly and fundamentally different from LED TVs, which it says are actually LCD TVs with LED backlighting to boost brightness. Direct View LED technology images are created directly by the LED diodes and provide high contrast ratio and brightness, creating some of the most vivid images available.

Available in various sizes and performance levels, LG’s home cinema displays take the guesswork out of configuring which DVLED screen is right for you. Displays are available in 2K FHD, 4K UHD, and 8K UHD. Additional options include Dual2K and Dual4K UltraStretch that provide unique configuration possibilities, including a side-by-side 32:9 display. While the 8K UHD MICRO display features a jaw-dropping 325" diagonal, the 2K and 4K displays are offered in a variety of screen sizes to suit your needs, starting from 108". LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema displays are available exclusively through a new custom-installation dealer program, and cannot be purchased at stores.

When creating these preconfigured displays, LG took virtually everything into consideration. Each solution includes all of the display’s components and an intelligent controller that makes system operations a breeze. These components ship in custom-designed ATA flight cases to make sure everything arrives safe and sound. While some may say ATA CERTIFIED FLIGHT CASES are overkill, LG believes they make perfect sense. After all, a premium display deserves premium treatment. Each display comes in these highly protective cases that feature custom packaging to ensure that your system arrives without issue – free from damage or missing parts. LG even considered each case's exterior, using customized badging that reflects the quality of the system contained within.

LG’s webOS features a Quad-Core SoC design that can execute several tasks to provide smooth content playback from connected base-band high-resolution video sources, the built-in media player, or video streaming decoder. Select controllers have 3.6GB of storage for applications and content. For added convenience, a remote control with an intuitive user interface puts system and image control in the palm of your hand. Each display includes an advanced controller that gives users added features and system control. Further, LG’s DVLED home cinema display can seamlessly integrate with most professional AV control systems and are certified Crestron Connected.

"This truly is the supercar of home display technologies, offering hand-constructed quality and performance that appeals to those with luxury lifestyles who want something that is not only immersive, but also highly exclusive," says Dan Smith, LG Electronics USA's vice president in charge of DVLED displays. "LG DVLED Extreme Home Cinema Display technology is rated to last 100,000 hours before reaching half-life, meaning that it could deliver stunning visuals for over 10 years."
