LG's high-end OLED and Super UHD TVs to feature the new ThinQ AI tech and α (Alpha) 9 processorObviously, LG feels quite assured that it has reached a peak in OLED and SUPER UHD TVs development, so it focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) and image processing that should power its high-end TV sets. In terms of AI, LG has announced the ThinQ artificial intelligence (AI) technology that it will showcase during CES 2018 in Las Vegas. It employs Natural Language Processing (NLP) to deliver intelligent voice-activated control and connectivity based on LG's own deep learning technology, DeepThinQ. It will power only high-end LG models including OLED and Super UHD TVs. This means that the remote controls of these models will have even fewer buttons as owners will be able to speak directly into the remote control. ThinkQ-powered TVs can also function as smart hubs and connect to other smart home products - lights, air purifiers, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, etc. This will be available only in certain countries via Google Assistant. The second new tech that LG will demonstrate at CES 2018 is its newest α (Alpha) 9 intelligent processor, which incorporates a four-step process of noise reduction, improves colour precision via an improved colour correction algorithm. The processor also supports high frame rate (HFR) for smoother and clearer motion images at 120 fps for better rendering of fast-action content such as sports and action movies. "LG is continually seeking to innovate in home entertainment and LG ThinQ along with the α (Alpha) 9 processor will deliver a TV viewing experience that is unrivalled in the industry," said Brian Kwon, president of LG's Home Entertainment Company. "At LG, our interest is in improving user lifestyles and convenience, which our 2018 TVs amply deliver."Source
