Asus VG49V - a 49-inch super-ultra-wide curved monitor for gamers and professionalsAsus has always been very strong at home ground events and especially at the Computex. This year's Computex is marked by the announcement of the first Asus gaming smartphone dubbed ROG Phone. Traditionally, the Taiwanese giant expanded its portfolio of monitors as well. The first of the most interesting models is the Asus VG49V - massive 49-inch super-ultra-wide desktop monitor, created for gamers and professionals alike. It packs a 32:9 VA panel with an 1800R curve and a 3840 x 1080 resolution. The monitor is ideal for multitasking on daily bases. Its Picture-by-Picture mode lets you view input from two separate sources simultaneously. It is also equipped with a DisplayPort 1.2 and dual HDMI 2.0 inputs. Asus VG49V uses FreeSync to provide variable refresh rate, the maximum one being 144Hz, which is ideal for gaming. The 4ms pixel-response time ensures blur-free content, while the Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) strobes the backlight to achieve a moving-picture response time of just 1 ms. This feature works at 85, 100, or 120Hz. GameFast minimizes input lag between your PC and the monitor, heightening your connection to the game and providing a competitive edge in multiplayer matches. Low Blue Light tech, flicker-free backlight, two 5W stereo speakers are on board as well. The monitor can be seen at Computex 2018 in Taipei, Taiwan. It will be launched at the end of 2018. Exact availability and pricing are TBA.Source
