TCL CSOT will start Gen 5.5 inkjet printing OLED production by the end of 2024Exactly four years ago, TCL said its CSOT brand's inkjet printed OLED line in Guangzhou would start production in 2024. In the following years, TCL CSOT has consecutively showcased its advancements in inkjet printing OLED technology including its 31-inch inkjet printed OLED rollable TV prototype and 17-inch printed OLED rollable screen in 2020, the inkjet-printed 65-inch 8K OLED panel at DTC 2021, SID Display Week 2022, and CES 2023, and the 14" 2.8K Inkjet Printing Hybrid OLED Display at CES 2024.

A recent report by The Elec says that TCL CSOT's plans to start inkjet-printed OLED production in Guangzhou will be realized by the end of the year, indeed. The report specifies that the production will start with 21.6-inch displays used in medical devices on the Gen 5.5 (1300 x 1500 mm) line with equipment from JOLED. The expansion to the Gen 8.5 line (2200 x 2500 mm) of OLED panels, originally announced in 2020, is expected to happen next year.Source
