LG Display will supply WOLED TV panels to Samsung Electronics

Korean news outlet The Elec reports that according to industry sources, this month LG Display will supply a small amount of WOLED display panels to Samsung Electronics. The panels will be used for a new Samsung WOLED TV that will be unveiled in the second half of this year. It is noted that the two companies have not reached a final agreement that's explained mainly by the uncertainty in the market. It is also reported that Samsung Electronics has asked LG Display to produce customized WOLED panels but there have been cost disagreements starting from the development cost and up to the marketing one. The only thing that seems certain, according to the report, is the 83" and 77" Samsung OLED TVs will be fitted with WOLED panels from LG Display. These will be complemented by 77", 65", and 55" QD-OLED TV models. If the deal develops in full scale, Samsung will surpass Sony as an LG Display WOLED display panel customer.SourceRelated news
