Asus showcases two gaming monitors with DSG and a portable gaming monitor with a tripodAt Gamescom 2019, Asus showcases two gaming monitors with Display Stream Compression (DSC) - an industry compression standard for UHD video streaming through a single interface, with no visible loss of quality. The standard supports Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) with a single cable. The two models are the ROG Strix XG43UQ and the ROG Strix XG27UQ. These are 43-inch and 27-inch, respectively, 4K gaming monitors with 144Hz refresh rates achieved through a single DisplayPort 1.4 port and without chroma sub-sampling.

Asus ROG Strix XG43UQ is Vesa DisplayHDR 1000 certified and covers 90% of the DCI-P3 colour space. It also works smoothly with AMD Radeon FreeSync 2 HDR. The ROG Strix XG27UQhas an IPS panel with Quantum Dot technology, 90% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour space and DisplayHDR 400 certification.

Adjoining the couple of DSC monitors is a portable gaming monitor with ROG Tripod - the ROG Strix XG17. It has a 17.3-inch IPS panel with an FHD resolution, 3ms response time and supports Adaptive Sync for 48-240Hz refresh rates. The monitor weighs 1 kg and its battery allows for up to 2.7 hours of 240GHz gaming. It charges from 0 to 100% in an hour. The ROG Tripod the portable monitor can be set up at different angles and heights and can be perfectly adapted to any gaming scenario. For example, the ROG Tripod facilitates the positioning of the Strix XG17 directly above a gaming notebook, resulting in an expanded screen.
