TCL CSOT held a groundbreaking ceremony for its t8 inkjet-printed OLED production line

TCL has begun construction on its G8.6-generation mass-production inkjet-printed OLED line, a major project led by TCL CSOT in Guangzhou with joint investment from local government and development zones totaling about 29.5 billion yuan. Company executives say the T8 project marks the world's first large-scale, G8.6-class OLED printing production line and aims to push China into a leading position in next-generation AMOLED manufacturing.
The facility will integrate upstream suppliers of key printing materials, core equipment, and components to form a full production ecosystem spanning materials, equipment, panels, and end products, with an initial modular glass substrate capable of handling roughly 2290 by 2620 mm and a planned monthly capacity of about 22,500 panels to accelerate global deployment of printed OLED technology. TCL Huaxing pointed to its recent G5.5 mass-production experience and existing supply agreements as proof of its ability to scale the new G8.6 line reliably.
TCL says printed OLED panels from the new line will first target displays for monitors, laptops, and tablets, with longer-term ambitions to expand into higher-value applications. The company also notes that several leading global material and equipment suppliers have already committed to cooperating on the project, which the company expects will help advance high-quality OLED production and broaden the display ecosystem.
The start of construction follows TCL CSOT's agreement with the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government and the Administrative Committee of Guangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, dating to September 12, when the two parties agreed to make a joint investment in the project. The initial plans were to start construction in November, but the project has been developing ahead of schedule.
