Asus unveiled the CG32 console gaming monitor with HDR and Adaptive-Sync

4 June 2018, 09:52:17

Asus unveiled the CG32 console gaming monitor with HDR and Adaptive-SyncAsus CG32 is a console gaming monitor created especially for smaller spaces, where giant TVs can't fit. It has a 31.5-inch panel with a 4K Ultra HD resolution that handles Enhanced Xbox and PlayStation games. It supports Adaptive-Sync and HDR, and has a Halo Sync lighting that adds a reactive ambience that extends beyond the boundaries of the display. The HDR capabilities of the model include HDR10 support and VESA DisplayHDR 600 compliance. The panel has a 10-bit colour depth and covers 95% of the cinema-grade DCI-P3 gamut. Zone-based dimming enables vast dynamic range from deep blacks to bright whites that push up to 600 cd/m2 of localized luminance. The Adaptive-Sync feature offers a variable rate of 40-60Hz and works with not only the DisplayPort 1.2 input, but also all three HDMI 2.0 ports. It also decreases latency to 13 ms, while competing TVs offer 27-50 ms. The Halo Sync lighting uses 38 addressable RGB LEDs, embedded into the back of the frame. This feature matches the LED colours with what's happening along the borders of the screen. The synchronized glow extends immersion into your room. The monitor arrives with a remote that can adjust the brightness, change inputs, and perform other OSD functions from a distance. The monitor also functions as a peripheral and charging hub with four USB 3.0 ports on its base. Two are reserved for charging and the other two are downstream ports that let you connect peripherals and external storage devices to one of your systems. A pair of integrated 5W speakers is on board as well. Standard VESA wall mount is supported. The monitor can be viewed at the Computex 2018 in Taipei and will go on sale later this year.Source
