Acer Nitro XV5 series is unveiled with the first models being Acer XV275K, Acer XV275KP, Acer XV275UV

Acer Nitro XV5 series is unveiled with the first models being Acer XV275K, Acer XV275KP, Acer XV275UVToday, Acer officially announced its Nitro XV5 series of gaming monitors. Currently, there are three known models from the series - one for China and two for the European market: They include 27-inch IPS displays with a QHD or 4K resolution, HDR brightness of up to 400 nits, HDR10 certification, and 90-95% DCI-P3 color space coverage. The refresh rate of the monitors varies from 144 Hz to 160 Hz which can be overclocked to 170Hz. Acer's information also states that the overclock can reach up to 200Hz but does not specify the exact model that supports this refresh rate. The response time is either 4 ms with 1 ms MPRT for the 4K models or 1 ms GTG with 0.5 ms MPRT for the QHD models. In addition, the Nitro XV5 monitors support AMD FreeSync Premium via Adaptive-Sync technology. For one of the 4K models a Quantum Dot Color technology is mentioned. Some official photos suggest the existence of an ultra-wide model but there's not a single word of such a model. Most probably it won't have a 27-inch diagonal size and will be the subject of a later expansion of the Nitro XV5 series.

Thanks to HDMI 2.1, you can enjoy games from next-gen consoles such as PS5 and Xbox X in 4K quality in addition to classic PC games. The QHD models are fitted with an HDMI 2.0 input. All models have a DisplayPort 1.4 input, a headphone jack, a USB Type-B upstream port, and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports. The integrated USB Type-C 3.1 input enables KVM switches and even quickly recharges laptop batteries with 65 watts of charging power. Moreover, unlike its USB predecessors, the USB-C port on the Nitro XV5 models processes HDMI, MHL, Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, PCI-express, and numerous audio signals and thus transmits data input and output from a mouse, keyboard, webcam, or headset and can even transport image and network information. It proves that it is not only clever but also fast with a data transfer rate of up to 1200 Mbps and thus ensures real-time transmission of image and sound, for example during streaming.

The revised, timeless zero-frame design of the new Nitro XV5 monitors is also impressive and at the same time increases ergonomic adjustment. The stand offers up to 110 mm of height adjustment, +/-20 degrees of swivel, a bi-directional pivot, and -5 to 15 degrees of tilt. The stand can be removed for VESA wall mounting with 75x75 mm holes. The models that are known so far have dual 3W speakers.

The Acer Nitro XV5 series is expected to be available from January 2023 at recommended retail prices starting at EUR 399.
