2025 Samsung QD-OLED TVs will achieve a peak brightness of over 4000 nits

Samsung Display announced some highlights from its participation at CES 2025 next week. SThe brand's invite-only CES exhibit, open from January 7 to 10, will showcase state-of-the-art OLED products for IT devices, including tablets, laptops, and monitors, as well as cutting-edge OLED solutions for vehicles. This year’s exhibit aims to underline Samsung Display’s expertise beyond smartphones, with a focus on sectors like automotive and artificial intelligence (AI), among others.
A major highlight is the QD Jungle, which showcases the impressive picture quality of Samsung Display's large displays. Samsung Display will create a media art space using its brighter QD-OLED for TVs and new QD-OLED products for monitors. This offers viewers an immersive experience that makes them feel as if they’ve stepped into a real forest. QD-OLED’s high color purity in each pixel minimizes color blending with surrounding hues, allowing it to more accurately display natural colors that traditional displays struggle to reproduce.
The newly unveiled 2025 QD-OLED incorporates advanced panel driving technology and new organic materials, achieving a peak brightness of over 4000 nits based on the combined brightness measurement of red, green, blue light. This makes it the brightest OLED TV panel currently available - about 30% brighter than SDC's previous year models. The new monitor panels feature the highest pixel density among currently available self-emissive monitors. Additionally, next-generation technology with even higher picture quality will also be unveiled. Samsung Display leads the industry with a diverse range of monitors, including 27-inch, 31.5-inch, 34-inch, and 49-inch models, designed to excel in gaming, content creation, medical applications, and more.
The world's first 18.1-inch foldable panel for IT devices will offer the screen size of two tablets. When folded, it becomes a 13.1-inch laptop display with touchscreen functionality. Users can also connect a keyboard and use it as a monitor. This follows the unveiling of a 17.3-inch IT foldable panel in 2022.
The Slidable Flex Duet with a screen that extends from 8.1 inches to 12.4 inches will also be showcased alongside the Slidable Flex Solo with a screen that expands one way from 13 inches to 17.3 inches, and the Slidable Flex Vertical with a screen that extends vertically from a compact 5.1 inches - smaller than a smartphone - to 6.7 inches.
Also on display will be demo cockpits equipped with an Under Panel Camera (UPC) for enhanced driving safety, a bendable Center Information Display (CID) for a streamlined interior, and a Head-Up Display (HUD) to replace traditional dashboards, reduce weight, and improve space utilization.
