Samsung Display sets a new benchmark with the world's first 4K 360Hz QD‑OLED display panelAdd DisplaySpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleSamsung Display is pushing the boundaries of high‑end gaming and professional visualization once again, unveiling the world's first 4K 360Hz QD‑OLED monitor panel at COMPUTEX 2026 in Taipei. By redesigning the panel circuitry and optimizing the driving system, engineers managed to process the massive pixel data load required for 4K at 360Hz - a feat previously considered impractical due to pixel‑charging constraints.

The panel also introduces a powerful Dual Mode capability. When switched to FHD resolution, the refresh rate skyrockets to an unprecedented 680Hz, giving competitive gamers the kind of motion clarity and responsiveness typically reserved for specialized esports displays. Samsung Display notes that this mode is especially advantageous for FPS titles where microsecond transitions define the competitive edge.

Brightness performance receives a major upgrade as well. The panel is certified to VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600, surpassing the True Black 500 level common in premium OLED monitors. Achieving this certification requires black levels as low as 0.0005 nits and peak brightness of at least 600 nits across RGB channels at 10% APL - a demanding threshold that highlights Samsung Display's advancements in self‑emissive panel engineering.

Another key innovation is the new V‑stripe pixel structure. By arranging RGB sub‑pixels in vertical stripes, the panel delivers noticeably sharper text edges, making it suitable not only for gaming but also for coding, document work, graphic design, and content creation. Samsung Display positions this as a major advantage for users who need both visual fidelity and professional‑grade readability.

The company is already in discussions with more than ten global brands regarding supply, with mass production scheduled for the second half of 2026. Brad Jung, Vice President and Head of the Large Display Marketing Team, described the panel as "a near‑perfect monitor" that aligns with what consumers expect from a premium display: ultra‑high resolution, extreme refresh rates, high brightness, and enhanced readability.
