2020 LG NanoCell TVs most noteworthy featuresAt the top of LG's NanoCell TV range for 2020 are four Real 8K TV models (models with 75 and 65 inches in the Nano99 and Nano97 series), which are equipped with the new α (Alpha) 9 Gen 3 8K AI processor. All models exceed the strict requirements for issuing the official 8K UHD industrial logo of the CTA. The deep learning technology of the Alpha 9 Gen 3 AI processor and its AI-based 8K upscaling improve the image and sound quality for a wide variety of content. Based on the deep learning network, the content is analyzed and processed with a four-stage noise reduction (Quad Step Noise Reduction) and a frequency-based sharpness enhancer. The result is razor-sharp images. Even low-resolution content can be scaled up to near 8K perfection. Also new are the features AI Picture Pro and Auto Genre Selection, which automatically ensure more natural colors, improved legibility and picture settings adapted to the content. AI Sound Pro is also available for these models.
In the 4K area, LG provides additional NanoCell TVs with custom sizes between 49"and 86. The 4K TVs of the NanoCell series NANO86, NANO90 and NANO91 have the further developed α (Alpha) 7 Gen 3 processor, which has a refresh rate of 120Hz and provides an extremely short input delay. This also enables the upscaling content to native 4K resolution and the support of different HDR formats such as Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10 Pro and HLG.
All 4K and 8K NanoCell TVs arrive with built-in Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. The LG Magic remote control for the 4K line-up features an integrated microphone for voice input. LG's own operating system, webOS, also supports Apple Airplay 2 and HomeKit. All new 2020 devices allow access via the Apple TV app and Apple TV Channels as well as the iTunes video library.
