The Philips Momentum 559M1RYV with 55" 4K VA display, 144Hz refresh rate, and USB-C port goes officialPhilips unveiled the Philips Momentum 558M1RY in the summer of 2019 and launched it to the market in the summer of 2020. Today, the brand unveiled the successor of this model dubbed Philips Momentum 559M1RYV. The new model adds a USB Type-C port plus an increased refresh rate compared to its older sibling. The three HDMI ports are said to be HDMI 2.1 ones with VRR support. It remains unclear whether the other HDMI 2.1 features are present. All the rest is the same in terms of specifications.

The Philips Momentum 559M1RYV has a 55" 4K VA display with a peak brightness of 1200 nits which allows for VESA DIsplayHDR 1000 certification. The display covers 95% of the DCI-P3, 125% of the sRGB, and 104% of the NTSC color space. The static contrast ratio is 4000:1 and the GTG response time is 4 ms. The monitor supports up to 144Hz refresh rate via the HDMI and DisplayPort inputs as well as up to 120Hz refresh rates via the USB-C port. The latter offers up to 65W power delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode. EasyLink (HDMI-CEC) is supported as well. In addition, the monitor has four USB Type-A 3.2 ports and a USB Type-B 3.2 upstream port. The stand offers tilt adjustment only. VESA wall mounting is possible.

The Philips Momentum 559M1RYV has an integrated soundbar tuned by Bowers & Wilkins and covered with premium soundbar fabric by Kvadrat. It houses a 2.1 CH audio system with DTS Sound support. The monitor arrives with a 3-sided Ambiglow and has a number of features including MultiView, Separate Sync, SmartImage Game, SmartUniformity, etc.
