Xiaomi Mi TV Master Series 86" Mini LED is unveiled in China

Xiaomi has just unveiled the 86" Mini LED Master Series TV for the Chinese market. The TV features a 4K display with a Mini LED backlight that divides the screen into 1080 zones for precise brightness and contrast control. This allows the TV to achieve brightness levels as low as 0.0001 nits which according to Xiaomi is comparable to OLED levels. The peak brightness can reach 2000 nits. The Mega Dynamic Ontrat ratio is 6.7M:1. The Mini LED technology is combined with Quantum Dot Color technology, hence, the three major professional color spaces are fully covered, and the multi-color gamut reaches ΔE ≈ 0.8. This means the TV can also be used for professional work. It also arrives with a light sensor allowing the TV to intelligently adjust the image according to the ambient light conditions.
Xiaomi uses a self-developed color processing architecture and color gamut extension algorithm to achieve wide color gamut coverage. It uses a huge color database to achieve precise understanding and control of colors and deliver a perfect HDR experience. The Xiaomi 86" Mini LED Master Series TV supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HLG, IMAX Enhanced, and Filmmaker Mode. There's also a self-developed Local Dimming algorithm for precise control of partitioned backlight to enhance peak brightness with a customized light control system, using 36 driver ICs. Each chip controls 30 small partitions, and the re-partitioning is calculated frame by frame and partition by partition. Finally, there's a self-developed dynamic contrast enhancement algorithm, which, combined with AI technology, performance a frame-by-frame multi-dimensional analysis to adjust precisely the image and optimize its light and dark areas to deliver three-dimensional transparency and layering.
The audio system of the Xiaomi Mi TV Master Series 86" Mini LED> comprises 9 speaker units with a total power output of 70W, including a 20W subwoofer. Supporting Dolby Atmos, it delivers a three-dimensional sound effect with a great sense of space. DTS Virtual:X is also supported as well as independent center channel design for enhanced dialogue and vocal positioning. In addition, the 4K TV offers a refresh rate of up to 144Hz with VRR and HFR support via the two HDMI 2.1 inputs. For quality gaming time, there's a dedicated Game Mode. Xiaomi specifies 1 ms gaming-level ultra-low latency and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro certification.
As for processing prowess, the Xiaomi Mi TV Master Series 86" Mini LED depends on a high-performance quad-core Cortex-A73 CPU with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. The TV supports intelligent far-field voice control and arrives with a voice remote control with a built-in NFC function. It runs on Xiaomi's MIUI TV. In addition to the two HDMI 2.1 inputs, there are also one HDMI 2.0 port, a USB 3.0 and a USB 2.0 port, AV Composite in a 3.5 mm jack, optical audio jack, LAN port, and a cable/antenna input.
