JOLED starts production of G5.5 printed OLEDs

JOLED starts production of G5.5 printed OLEDsJOLED has announced the production of printed OLEDs on the world's first mass-production line for this type of panels on its Nomi site. JOLED will use its RGB printing method, which achieves efficient production of mid-sized high-resolution OLEDs. The panels will be applied to high-end monitors, medical monitors, and automotive displays. The monthly output will be 20,000 sheets of G5.5 (1300 x 1500 mm) size. The construction of the new production line began in July 2018 and mass production will commence next year.

Mr. Tadashi Ishibashi, Representative Director and President of JOLED said at the completion ceremony, "We are so delighted to have completed our first mass production line of OLED displays, which is also the world’s first mass production line of printed OLED. We will produce mid-sized high-resolution OLED displays using the printing method and will provide innovations to the middle-sized category in the world OLED market."

Mr. Masanori Tanimoto, Governor of Ishikawa Prefecture said in his guest speech, "I'm very proud that cutting-edge products are going to be sent from Ishikawa Prefecture to the world. We are looking forward to JOLED’s future business development with the hopes of further development of the prefecture through cooperation with companies in the rapidly growing electronic components category in the machinery industry, which is the key industry of the prefecture."
