MSI Optix MAG342CQR and Optix MAG342CQRV are released to marketBack in January this year, MSI announced the MSI Optix MAG342CQR. At that time, this gaming monitor was advertised as having a 1000R curvature, however, with MSI releasing it to the market, it turns out the model and its sibling - the MSI Optix MAG342CQRV have a curvature of 1500R unless MSI has made a typo in the specs of the MSI Optix MAG342CQR. The two models definitly use different display panels and while the rest of their features and options seem to be the same, there are some subtle differences.

The MSI Optix MAG342CQR is equipped with a 34-inch Super PVA display panel with a resolution of 3440 x 1400 pixels, 10-bit color support, 300 nits brightness, and 4000:1 static contrast ratio. It covers 89% of the DCI-P3 and 112% of the sRGB color space. The monitor offers 1 ms MPRT, 4 ms GTG response time, and 14 ms average one. It supports up to 144Hz refresh rates and is equipped with two HDMI 2.0 ports, DisplayPort 1.4, and a headphone jack.

The MSI Optix MAG342CQRV is equipped with a 34-inch VA display panel with a resolution of 3440 x 1400 pixels, 8-bit color support, 250 nits brightness, and 3000:1 static contrast ratio. It covers 89% of the DCI-P3 and 112% of the sRGB color space. The monitor offers 1 ms MPRT, 4 ms GTG response time, and 16 ms average one. It supports up to 100Hz refresh rates and is equipped with an HDMI 2.0 port, an HDMI 1.2 port, DisplayPort 1.2, and a headphone jack.

Both monitors have ergonomic stands that provide height adjustment of up to 90 mm, -5°/20° tilt, +/-5° pivot, +/-30° swivel. There's a 75 x 75 mm plate for VESA wall mounting for each. Both models support Adaptive-Sync technology, Night Vision, Wide Color Gamut, and have MSI's Mystic Light RGB lights on their backs.
