LG will soon start mass production of big OLED displays in its new factory in Guangzhou, China
1 September 2019, 12:39:07

LG Display has invested about 5 trillion won (US$4.2 billion) to build the Guangzhou factory and its part of its plan to focus on OLEDs and high-end TVs as the LCD business has generated losses for LG. In 2018, LG has shipped 2.9 million large OLED panels last year, which accounted for over 20% of its total sales, turning to a surplus for the first time in five years since the panels' launch. The expectations are this ratio to exceed 30% for 2019. According to IHS Markit, sales of OLED TVs will rise from 5.5 million in 2020 to 10 million in 2022.Source
