The TCL X11K QD Mini LED series from the XL Collection was fully unveiled in Europe in mid-February and as of today, TCL launched the two TVs in the U.S. The TCL 98X11K for the U.S. is priced at USD 13000 and the TCL 85X11K for the U.S. costs USD 10000. Below's what we already wrote about the X11K specifications in the European announcement. Of course, the U.S.-based models will have local-specific tuners and corresponding inputs.
The new and most noteworthy feature of the TCL X11K TVs is the usage of the TCL CSOT HVA displays coupled with TCL's proprietary All-domain Halo Control Technology. These new TV panels are called CrystGlow HVA panels and they deliver up to 7000:1 static contrast. They integrated a new Quantum Dot technology with the so-called Quantum Crystals that are capable of rendering over a billion colors, with up to 978% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, providing 100,000 high-quality viewing hours. A new color optimization algorithm has also been created to ensure that TCL's new TVs better activate all the intense colors. With up to 14112 local dimming zones, the X11K delivers a peak HDR brightness of 6500 nits. The models are Dolby Vision, HLG, Dolby Vision IQ, and HDR10+ certified. The Low Reflection Film also improves viewing experience.
The TCL 98X11K and the TCL 85X11K also adopt the brand's All-domain Halo Control Technology, which integrates several features. The first is the ground-breaking Powerful Light-emitting chip that significantly improves brightness by 33.5% and energy efficiency by 40.2%, reproducing natural bright and dark scenes with clarity. The second feature is TCL's self-developed Super Condensed Micro Lens technology that precisely controls light direction through its arch bridge dimming design. Its selection of yellowing-resistant optical materials and nano engraving technique enhances backlight uniformity and halo control for clearer screen details.
The third feature that solves halo issues is the Super Micro-OD delivered by TCL's powerful Mini LED optical technology. Thanks to it the TVs are also slimmer. The Dynamic Lighting Bionic Algorithm is fourth and combines human perception characteristics and picture pixel information to optimize details for SDR and HDR signals to improve the contrast. Transient Response is fifth and is able to prevent dark shadows, bright spots, and trailing caused by backlight lag in motion pictures. finally, the Bidirectional 16-bit precision control technology enables precise adjustment of Mini LED backlight brightness, resulting in more vibrant and stunning visuals.
The TCL 98X11K and the TCL 85X11K have 4K displays with a 144Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync Premium certification. They run on Google TV with Google Assistant and Game Master 2.0 with Game Bar. The AIPQ Pro with AI processor enables various features such as AI 4K upscaling, Ai-Clarity, Ai-Contrast, Ai-Colour, Ai-HDR, Ai-MEMC, and Ai-Scene. To complement the new graphics, TCL has partnered with the premium Bang & Olufsen brand to deliver customized sound solutions. With its Beosonic feature, you can change the mood of your music in real time. Among all else the X11K TVs are also IMAX Enhanced certified. They have a Flat-thin Design with two-stage high-adjustable feet. You can choose from floor-standing installation, a TV stand, or wall mounting.
