ViewSonic VG3281-8K emerges on a Chinese retailer's website with an 8K 31.5" IPS display

ViewSonic VG3281-8K has been listed by a third-party vendor on the Chinese online retailer Taobao. According to the listing, this is a 31.5-inch IPS monitor with an 8K resolution (7680 x 4320 px) and a native refresh rate of 60Hz. The display covers 99% of the Adobe RGB and 99% of the DCI-P3 color space. With 300 nits of typical brightness, it also supports HDR10. The static contrast ratio is specified as being 1000:1. 10-bit color bit depth is mentioned but it is not detailed whether it is true or uses FRC. ViewSonic VG3281-8K is equipped with a fully ergonomic stand that allows height adjustment of up to 150 mm, a clockwise pivot, +/-30 degrees of swivel, -3.5 to 35 degrees of tilt. The connectivity options of the model include two HDMI 2.1 inputs, DisplayPort 1.4, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB 3.0 Type-B port, a USB Type-C upstream port with 96W power delivery and DP Alt Mode, and a headphone jack. The monitor also has two 3W speakers. The product is priced at CNY 16,999 which equals ~USD 2,319.
[Editor's note] Even though we've listed this model with the specs provided in the retailer's listing, do take this data with a pinch of salt. Chinese retailers, especially Taobao, very often publish data with mistakes. We will follow up on this model and update accordingly if needed, when more reliable information emerges. In addition, 2.5 years ago ViewSonic aimed at releasing another 31.5" 8K monitor - the ViewSonic VP3286-8K with LG Display LM315QU1-SSB1 panel - but that was discontinued (so is the display panel).
