LG Display's transparent OLED display will debut this weekLG Display announced that its transparent OLED display will debut through MBC's broadcasting station on Wednesday as part of the station's general election ballot counting show. This is a next-generation transparent OLED display, which remains see-through even when it is turned on. LG Display and MBC are planning to install six transparent OLEDs in the main studio and display various contents such as the counting status on the screen to produce an SF-like image, providing fresh and differentiated sights to viewers. In addition, one transparent OLED signage from LG Electronics will be installed in a separate studio outdoors to deliver unique information on changing counts. LG Display commercialized transparent OLEDs last year but this is the first time they will make a public debut. Such displays find application in TV shows, shop windows, office spaces, etc. LG's transparent OLED displays have a 55-inch diagonal size, FHD resolution, and 40% transparency. "We will present the infinite scalability of OLED through meeting with a higher-level display technology and MBC general election broadcasting," said vice president of TV division, Changho Oh, LG Display. MBC's election broadcast planning team said, "We will show differentiated counting broadcasting contents that can catch the viewer's attention by utilizing the advanced OLED technology of LG Display."
