Samsung presents the first HDR QLED gaming monitors - CHG90 and CHG70Samsung has announced a duo of curved gaming monitors, which also happen to be the first HDR QLED ones. HDR technology is usually reserved for high-end smart TVs, but it now makes it to the gaming monitors as well, redefining gaming experience by providing a realistic picture as intended by the game developers. At the same time, the QLED quantum dot technology provides a new metal core and supports 125% of the sRGB and 95% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Samsung CHG90 (C49HG90) offers a double FHD resolution - 3840 x 1080 pixels on a 49-inch display with a 32:9 aspect ratio and an 1800R curvature. It supports up to 144Hz refresh rate and combines 1ms motion picture response time (MPRT) with a four-channel scanning technology for a more consistent picture across the entire screen. Samsung CHG70 arrives in a 27-inch (C27HG70) and a 31.5-inch (C32HG70) variant, both supporting up to 144Hz refresh rate and having a 2560 x 1440 resolution along with a 600 cd/m2 peak brightness. All models arrive with AMD's new Radeon FreeSync 2 technology for tear- and stutter-free gameplay, which supports a wide colour gamut to showcase HDR content with twice the perceivable brightness and colour than that offered by the sRGB standard. They have recently received "HDR compatibility validation with Nvidia's graphics cards, ensuring they can clearly showcase a wider range of HDR-based gaming titles and PC devices." The CHG90 received a Bronze prize in the program's Consumer Technology category of the annual IDEA Awards, with the CHG70 received a Finalist nomination in the same group. The stands of all models provide tilst, swivel and height adjustment. With the exception of the CHG90 pivot adjustment is possible, too.

"Gamers want to feel completely immersed in their favorite games, and our new monitors provide the most stunning visuals and realistic content to deliver the ultimate gaming experience", said Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President, Enterprise Business at Samsung Electronics. "These QLED gaming monitors are the gateway to the future of gaming for casual, enthusiastic and competitive gamers alike, and we’re looking forward to building upon these game-changing technologies to further meet the needs of gamers, developers and partners in the coming years."Source
