NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitors are finally hitting the market
6 January 2026, 19:19:56
The NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar debuted in the summer of 2024 during Gamescom. Simultaneously with this announcement, three brands unveiled three monitors that will arrive with NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar on board. These were the AOC AGON Pro AG276QSG2, Acer Predator XB273U F5, and the Asus ROG Swift PG27AQNR. Of the trio, only the Acer Predator XB273U F5 received detailed specifications at the moment, even though this monitor is not available for sale yet. The AOC AGON Pro AG276QSG2 was unveiled today, and the Asus ROG Swift PG27AQNR did not make it past its official announcement at Gamescom 2024.
Later on, at CES 2025, two other monitors were "announced" - the MSI MPG 272QRF X36 and the Acer Predator XB323QX. The MSI model was unveiled today, a year later, and even though the Acer model's specifications are known, it is still not available for purchase.
The first NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar monitor that will go to market is the Asus ROG Strix XG27AQNGV. It was announced a month ago and today Asus confirmed the model will go on sale later this month.
[UPDATE 07-01-2026] The AOC AGON Pro AG276QSG2 is available on Amazon.com priced at USD 600.
What does NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar actually do?
NVIDIA G-Sync Pulsar is the next evolution of NVIDIA's VRR (variable refresh rate) technology. Instead of simply matching the monitor's refresh rate to the GPU's frame rate, Pulsar adds adaptive backlight strobing that changes timing per frame. More specifically, the monitor's backlight is divided into horizontal zones, which pulse top-to-bottom, synchronized with the LCD's pixel transitions. The backlight only illuminates pixels after they've fully settled, preventing the "smear" caused by LCD response time. The strobe is adjusted for every frame, even when the frame rate fluctuates. This works across a wide VRR range and maintains clarity even when FPS is unstable. Most Pulsar panels run at 360Hz, but NVIDIA claims the perceived motion clarity is equivalent to a 1000Hz display. This is because motion blur is dominated by sample‑and‑hold behavior, not refresh rate alone. Pulsar's strobing breaks that limitation. This technology uses a MediaTek scaler, so no proprietary G-Sync module is needed.
Each of the debut G-SYNC Pulsar monitors mentioned above also includes NVIDIA's new G-SYNC Ambient Adaptive Technology, enabling color temperature and brightness to be automatically tuned for optimal viewing at any hour of the day or night.
