BenQ RD280UG goes official with improved contrast, refresh rate, and ergonomics

Add DisplaySpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleBenQ has expanded its specialised Programming Monitor Series with the launch of the BenQ RD280UG, a 28‑inch 4K+ display engineered to elevate clarity, focus, and long-term comfort for software developers.
At the core of the RD280UG is a Nano Matte Panel designed to eliminate glare and reflections - common sources of visual fatigue for programmers working long hours. The display introduces several BenQ-exclusive Coding Modes optimised for text clarity across different themes. Dark Theme enhances readability and debugging accuracy, while Light Theme maintains visibility without increasing strain. A new Paper Color Mode mimics the softness of printed paper, offering relief during extended work periods.
The monitor's technical specifications further reinforce its focus on readability and smooth workflow. The new-gen of BenQ Programming Monitor Series ups the refresh rate to 120Hz, enabling fluid, lag-free scrolling, while the 3:2 aspect ratio provides expanded vertical space to display more lines of code at once. A 2000:1 contrast ratio, supported by Enhanced Local Contrast and High Pixel Contrast, sharpens fine details and improves shadow definition. These enhancements also benefit entertainment use, delivering deeper blacks, brighter whites, and vivid detail for movies, images, and games.
BenQ has also prioritised comfort for late-night or low-light environments. The RD280UG incorporates MoonHalo bias lighting to create balanced ambient illumination and Night Hours Protection to maintain minimal brightness levels without compromising visibility. The monitor's updated fully ergonomic stand with a ±90° rotating hinge and auto pivot allows flexible ergonomic positioning, while BenQ's suite of eye-care technologies - including Visual Optimizer, automatic brightness and colour temperature adjustments, and Low Blue Light - helps reduce strain during prolonged use.
Designed to integrate seamlessly into modern development workflows, the BenQ RD280UG is fully compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux. A dedicated Coding Hotkey enables instant switching between coding modes and quick adjustments to brightness, contrast, and eye-care settings, ensuring developers can maintain focus without breaking their rhythm.
