MSI MEG 342C QD-OLED is ready for market release, complete specifications are now availableAfter a long wait, the MSI MEG 342C is finally ready for market release. This QD-OLED gaming monitor was announced last year in May at Computex 2022. It then appeared on September 27, 2022, during MSI's dedicated product launch event. In November, it was announced that the MEG 342C has won a CES 2023 Innovation Award. Finally, it was unveiled, again, at CES 2023 in January this year, but without any formal pricing and availability information.

Now, the final complete specifications are available, along with dimensions and ergonomics details. MSI MEG 342C is built around a 34.18" QD-OLED display by Samsung with a 1800R curvature and ultra-wide resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. The display delivers 250 nits of typical SDR and 1000 nits of peak HDR brightness. It is VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certified. It employs Quantum Dot Color technology and covers 139.1% of the sRGB, 97.8% of the Adobe RGB, and 99.3% of the DCi-P3 color space. Being an MSI Esports gaming monitor, the MEG 342C has more gamut coverage compared to general monitors (Wide Color Gamut). 0.1 ms GTG response time is specified along with a refresh rate of up to 175Hz with Adaptive-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology for fluid gaming. The screen has a "unique panel surface coating design" to effectively reduce glare reflection.

The MSI MEG 342C arrives with a macro key and a 5-way navigator joystick. There's a built-in and mic and a light sensor. At the bottom of the screen, on the front, there's the Spectrumbar with an exclusive RGB lighting design. The stand with "Legendary Design" offers up to 100 mm of height adjustment and -5 to 20 degrees of tilt. It can be removed for VESA wall mounting (100 x 100 mm). The connectivity options include four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-B upstream port, a USB Type-C port with DP Alt Mode an 65W power delivery, two HDMI 2.1 inputs, a DisplayPort 1.4a input, and a headphone jack. A KVM switch for controlling multiple devices via one set of keyboard, mouse, and monitor is also provided.

The MSI MEG 342C also packs a number of noteworthy features. The built-in light sensor automatically detects the ambient light and the monitor's AI technology will automatically adjust the display's brightness and color temperature accordingly. With Sound Tune, the monitor's AI eliminates background noise so communication between teammates is clearer. The usual Night Vision, Smart Cross Hair, and Optix Scope features are also on board and the model supports Console Mode gaming. There's a special MSI OLED Care software to help fight OLED screen aging. The Gaming Intelligence APP is also here to help you set up the monitor easily. PiP and PbP are also supported.
