2025 LG QNED and LG QNED evo TVs debut in Europe at the LG Convention

The 2025 LG QNED and LG QNED evo series made their European debut at the LG Convention in Germany. This year's line-up offers, among other things, an (almost) wireless TV experience with 4K 144 Hz technology without any loss of quality as well as powerful AI-supported image and sound processing. For the first time, the QNED series also includes a 100-inch model ( 100QNED86A6 ) to meet the growing demand for ultra-large premium LCD TVs. Thanks to the new wide color gamut technology "Dynamic QNED Color Solution", the QNED TVs from this year have an improved color space compared to previous models. The new technology replaces quantum dots and displays colors particularly realistically and true to nature.
The 2025 QNED evo lineup boasts an improved color gamut compared to previous models by applying LG's new proprietary wide color gamut technology, Dynamic QNED Color Solution, which replaces quantum dots. This unique technology enables light from the backlight to be expressed in pure colors that are as realistic as they appear to the eye in general life. With the application of Dynamic QNED Color Solution, the entire 2025 QNED evo lineup is 100% certified by global testing and certification organization Intertek for Color Volume, measuring a screen's ability to display the rich colors of original images without distortion.
Thanks to True Wireless 4K technology, it is now possible for the first time in a QNED model (QNED9M) to transmit image and sound without cables and without latency. The Zero Connect Box transmits image signals wirelessly in 4K resolution at up to 144 Hz and can be positioned up to 10 meters away from the TV. Previously, this was only available for the OLED evo TVs of the M series. There is only one power cable on the television itself. Peripheral devices such as game consoles, set-top boxes or Blu-ray players are connected directly to the Zero Connect Box - annoying cable clutter on the TV is a thing of the past. This opens up new possibilities in interior design and ensures a clear, modern setup in the living environment.
The basis for the highest image and sound quality is the improved α8 Gen2 4K AI processor, which delivers 70 percent higher AI performance than the previous model. In the form of AI upscaling, the artificial intelligence used also improves the representation of faces, objects and text, while Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro divides each scene into thousands of areas to enable HDR optimization and precise brightness control. The sound of the new devices is also audibly optimized: AI Sound Pro transforms 2-channel stereo sound into immersive 9.1.2 surround sound - for cinema-like entertainment. These AI capabilities also include more advanced upscaling, analyzing the filmmaker’s intent to adjust picture noise and presenting faces, objects, text, and backgrounds more naturally. Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro breaks down each scene to fine-tune HDR effects and brightness for each zone. Moreover, AI converts 2-channel sound sources to virtual 9.1.2 channel sound for a richer audio experience. It also distinguishes voices from background sounds and makes them clearer, while audio sounds natural as if it were coming from the center of the TV screen.
Of course, the operation of the 2025 QNED models is also supported by AI: a short click on the AI button on the new AI Magic Remote leads to all relevant functions, while a long click activates the personalized search, which is based on a large language model (LLM). 1 Voice ID and Generative AI Gallery 2 enable customized content and app recommendations based on voice recognition that are tailored to individual viewing habits and allow creativity to run wild.
LG's proprietary smart TV platform, webOS 25, elevates the customer experience by offering hyper-personalized service advancements and content through its best-of-all-time AI features and the ongoing webOS Re:New Program, which includes webOS upgrades for five years.
