ViewSonic WorkPro VG2456 receives EPEAT 2.0 certificationAdd DisplaySpecifications as a preferred source on GoogleViewSonic has announced that its WorkPro VG2456 monitor has been officially registered under the new EPEAT 2.0 criteria, marking the company as one of the earliest adopters of the Global Electronics Council's updated sustainability standard. The certification reflects ViewSonic's commitment to advancing next‑generation environmental practices across product design, manufacturing and supply chain operations.

EPEAT 2.0 represents the most significant update to the world‑leading ecolabel in more than a decade, introducing stricter requirements that address modern expectations around climate impact, circularity, chemicals of concern and responsible sourcing. As a launch partner, ViewSonic joins a select group of manufacturers meeting the program’s heightened sustainability benchmarks from the outset.

According to the Global Electronics Council, early adopters play a critical role in accelerating industry‑wide progress. "EPEAT 2.0 builds on more than two decades of progress. We’re grateful for launch partners such as ViewSonic who demonstrate long‑term leadership in responsible technology," said Bob Mitchell, CEO of the Global Electronics Council. "Their early participation delivers impressive impacts across all the EPEAT‑registered products they sell and helps move the entire electronics industry forward."

For ViewSonic, the certification underscores a broader strategy to embed sustainability into every stage of product development. "Achieving EPEAT 2.0 marks a significant milestone in ViewSonic’s journey toward more sustainable innovation," said Ernest Huang, Director of Quality and Sustainability Development at ViewSonic. "As global sustainability expectations continue to rise, we are advancing the way we design and manufacture our products - prioritizing durability, responsible material choices and value chains that support a more sustainable future."

The WorkPro VG2456 monitor exemplifies this approach. Designed with efficiency in mind, it consumes just 24 watts of power - 10 percent below ENERGY STAR’s energy consumption requirement - and achieves an Energy Efficiency Index Level D, placing it among the top 20 percent of energy‑efficient displays on the market. Packaging has also been reengineered to reduce waste: 80 percent of materials are recyclable, cushioning has shifted from EPS foam to paper‑based alternatives, plastic handles have been eliminated in favor of integrated hand holes and exterior printing uses water‑based inks.

These efforts align with ViewSonic’s broader ESG commitments. The company has pledged to achieve net‑zero emissions by 2050, with targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative in 2024. Its roadmap includes expanded use of renewable energy, supply chain decarbonization, product‑level carbon reduction and ongoing improvements in energy efficiency across its portfolio.
