ASUS presents a number of monitors for gamersAsus definitely had a momentum at the Computex fair in Taipei. Further to the announcement of the Zen AiO PC series and the ProArt PA329Q monitor, the company has also revealed three other monitors. Aiming at gamers, the ASUS ROG PG34Q (3800R) is a curved display that will suit any user that demands high-quality visuals. It falls in the 34-inch class of monitors and features a 3440 x 1440 native resolution and 21:9 aspect ratio. The panel is IPS and has a refresh rate of 60-120Hz. Besides having a 3800R curvature, which provides more realistic images and wide viewing angles, this display is equipped with the NVIDIA G-SYNC technology, which synchronizes the display's refresh rate to the GPU in any GeForce GTX-powered PC this results in uninterruptedly smooth, lag-free visuals. The display packs a number of ports including an HDMI one and a DisplayPort. In terms of ergonomic the display can be tilted, swiveled and adjusted in height. At this point the monitor is still under design and development, so no release date is available. The ROG SWIFT PG279Q is another gamers' monitor by ASUS that falls in the 27-inch class. It has an IPS panel with 178-degree viewing angles and a 2560 x 1440 resolution. The display's refresh rate is ultra-fast measuring 144Hz and coupled with the NVIDIA G-SYNC technology on board guarantees almost non-existent input-lag and smooth visuals. HDMI and DisplayPort are part of the connectivity options as well. There is also an identical model to this one with the ROG SWIFT PG27AQ moniker, which, however, has a refresh rate of 60Hz. Finally, ASUS unveiled two other displays from the 27-inch class, but with the FreeSync technology on board. The ASUS MG278Q and the ASUS MG279Q have a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio144Hz refresh rate, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness and 170/160 viewing angles. The only difference between the two models is that the MG278Q has a TN panel with 1ms GTG response time, while the MG279Q is equipped with an IPS panel with 4ms GTG response time. Both models have a plethora of connectivity options including 2x USB 3.0, DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0, HDMI 1.4, and Dual-link DVI for the MG278Q and 2x USB 3.0, DisplayPort 1.2, mini-DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI/MHLx2.Source
