The 2021 Panasonic 4K LED TVs are grouped in four series so far: the JX940, JX870, JX850, and JX800. The JX940 features a more advanced picture processor. The JX800 series are basic in terms of hardware but runs on Android TV. The JX870 and JX850 are entirely identical. We guess there will be a difference in the interpolation index. However, Panasonic did not provide details about that at the moment.
The Panasonic JX940 series arrives with the new HCX Pro AI processor, meaning it can automatically detect sports broadcasts and optimize the picture quality accordingly. Intelligent Clear Motion also smooths out dynamic actions for flicker-free viewing. In addition, the series arrives with a 120Hz HDR Cinema Display Pro panel. With AMD FreeSync Premium, two HDMI 2.1 ports the series supports High Frame Rate (HFR) and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). Moreover, the JX940 series offers a flexible pedestal design, except for the 75" model. When the pedestals are placed in the outer position, it raises the TV up slightly to allow for a soundbar (such as Panasonic's design-matching HTB490 model) to be placed below it, further enhancing the audio performance. The Panasonic JX870 and Panasonic JX850 series are fitted with HDR Bright Panel Plus panels, HCX AI Processor, and run on my Home Screen 6.0. The audio system includes a pair of 10W speakers with Dolby Atmos and Cinema Surround Pro support. The two series do not differ much from the 2020 HX820 series. Even the dimensions and weight of the models are identical. They include the following models:
Finally, there's the Panasonic JX800 which is the first among Panasonic TVs to run on pure Android TV OS. This series offers the very basic HCX Processor and HDR Bright Panel Plus screens with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ Adaptive support. The audio department includes two 10W speakers for each model with Surround Sound support. No Dolby Atmos. The series comprises of the following models:
