Gigabyte added another dual-mode 4K UHD monitor to its lineup as an alternative to the G27U, which it unveiled yesterday. Indeed, the new model is named almost the same - Gigabyte G27UP, and shares some features with its sibling. Engineered for users who demand both high-speed performance and professional-grade visuals, it features dual mode support, allowing seamless switching between 4K UHD at 160Hz and Full HD at an ultra-fast 320Hz. This flexibility caters to gamers who want immersive resolution for cinematic titles and lightning-fast refresh rates for competitive play. The SuperSpeed IPS display panel delivers a 1ms GTG response time and 0.5 ms MPRT. The model is NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified for smooth, tear-free gameplay.
The G27UP covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color space and offers 129% sRGB volume, reproducing 1.07 billion colors for vibrant, lifelike imagery. It delivers 400 nits of typical brightness and is HDR10 certified. Gaming enhancements include Tactical Switch 2.0 for instant resolution toggling, Black Equalizer 2.0 and Night Vision for improved visibility in dark scenes, Smart OD for dynamic overdrive tuning, and Aim Stabilizer Sync to reduce motion blur while preserving VRR. Game Assist adds customizable crosshairs, timers, and picture-in-picture functionality for added control.
The monitor's cooling system features four-sided ventilation to maintain optimal temperatures during long sessions. Ergonomics are well covered with a stand offering 130 mm of height adjustment, -5 to 21 degrees of tilt, +/-15 degrees of swivel, and clockwise pivot. Eye comfort is addressed through certified Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free technologies.
Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, a USB 2.0 Type-A port for firmware updates, a USB Type-C upstream port with 15W power delivery and DP Alt Mode, and a headphone jack, ensuring compatibility with modern consoles, PCs, and peripherals. The metal stand complements the minimalist design, rounding out a spec sheet that positions the G27UP as a versatile, high-performance monitor for both gaming and creative workflows.
