The LG Signature 8K OLED TV will be available internationallyLG will launch internationally the LG Signature 8K OLED TV (model 88Z9), which was released in South Korea in July. Starting this month, this high-end TV will be available in 10 countries, including Germany, the UK, France, Australia and the United States. The 75-inch Super UHD TV (model 75SM99) with 8K resolution and nanocell technology will be available in about 20 countries by the end of the year.

LG Signature 8K OLED TV (model 88Z9) has an 88-inch diagonal size and a resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels. Each one of the 33 million pixels can be adjusted freely, resulting in a more delicate colour as well as perfect black. All 8K TVs from LG meet the international standards for resolution. In addition to the 7,680 horizontal and 4,320 vertical pixels, it achieves the perfect 8K resolution at about 90% Contrast Modulation (CM), which is well above the 50% standard.

According to the Information Display Measurements Standard (ICDM) established by the International Committee for Display Metrology, the number of pixels can be determined only when the contrast modulation (CM) is 50% or more. This standard is applied equally throughout the world including Korea.

LG Signature 8K OLED TV (model 88Z9) is equipped with the 2nd Generation AI Alpha 9 8K processor that adds deep learning technology to the developed picture quality chip and optimizes the picture quality and sound. It removes up to six levels of noise in the video, based on the results of the original video quality analysis. Even when inputting FHD (1920 X 1080) and 4K (3840 X 2160) resolution images, the image is displayed close to 8K. The processor converts a two-channel sound into virtual 5.1 surround sound as if it were played by five speakers, and delivers stereo sound optimized for the space in which the TV is installed. There's an HDMI 2.1 port for 120 fps when playing 4K videos and 60 fps for playing 8K videos. To guarantee memorable, cinematic viewing sessions, LG 8K OLED TVs and 8K NanoCell TVs feature Cinema HDR, encompassing support for Dolby Vision and Advanced HDR by Technicolor up to 4K and HLG and HDR 10 up to 8K.

LG Signature 8K OLED TV (model 88Z9) will be showcased during the IFA 2019 in Berlin, Europe's largest consumer electronics show, which runs from September 6-11.

Bong Seok Kwon, president of MC / HE Division of LG Electronics, said, "We will continue to lead the ultra-high-definition TV market with OLED TVs and nanocell TVs that fully implement 8K resolution based on the international standards." Quelle
