Nokia and Flipkart to launch smart TVs in India with JBL sound by Harman

Amidst the heavy smartphone crisis, the only market that was alive and kicking and registered growth in the past few years was and still is - India. This country was the trampoline for many Chinese smartphone brands and it seems that the Indian market tempts to tap in the smart TV business as well. Xiaomi and its sub-brand Redmi, Huawei, OnePlus have all released TV sets and among those Xiaomi was the first.
Yesterday, Flipkart, which is India's largest online retailer, and Nokia, which is owned by the Chinese HMD Global, announced that it will partner to launch in India smart TVs equipped JBL sound system - an initiative by Harman India. The future TVs will have Nokia's branding and Flipkart will be engaged with the manufacturing in India and end-to-end sales. JBL by Harman is known for high-quality audio equipment and this will be its first occurrence on smart TVs in India.
Commenting on the deal, Vipul Mehrotra, Vice President, Nokia Brand Partnerships, has said: "We are delighted that Flipkart, the leading e-commerce company in the country, will bring the first-ever Nokia branded Smart TVs to India.
